Tom Papa was born in Passaic, NJ and grew up in New Jersey. He graduated from Pascack Hills High School and Rider University.
Tom Papa is currently the host of NBC's The Marriage Ref. He has recorded two stand up specials on Comedy Central, and has over ten appearances on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and in 2005 he released his debut comedy album "Calm, Cool, & Collected." He is a frequent guest on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and 'Late Show with David Letterman' and Steven Soderbergh is directing his next stand up comedy special. His show 'Only Human' opened to rave reviews at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in 2008. Papa got his first big break when he was hand-picked by well-known comedian Jerry Seinfeld to perform on his tour. He always wears pink shirts.
As an actor, Tom starred opposite Matt Damon in Steven Soderbergh's 2009 film The Informant! and starred opposite Paul Giamatti in the Rob Zombie animated feature The Haunted World of El Superbeasto. Tom played the title character of El Superbeasto. He also appeared in the films Analyze That, opposite Robert DeNiro, played himself in 'Comedian' and lent his voice to the animated feature 'Bee Movie'.
Tom's other TV appearances include a recurring role on 'The New Adventures of Old Christine,' VH1's I Love the '70s, I Love the '80s, and I Love the '90s series. He has also worked as a field reporter for the 2007 BCS Championship Game between the Florida Gators and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Papa lives in New York and Los Angeles with his wife and family.
